Software Development: Is Custom Designing Better Than Retail?
8 August 2012When it comes to creating software, applications and website for your business, you need to look at the process and decide if it is better for you to use a general retail program that is readily available for many individuals throughout the world, or if you want to custom design the application and software. This is a big decision, and many of it depends on two factors: how much you want to spend and what kind of services you are looking to provide your clients and customers.
For starters, custom design is far more expensive than the retail design. This does cost you a good amount more money, but if you don’t want the cookie cutter look and feel, you need to go with this option. This is a good idea if you are going after technology individuals and want your product to stand out. However, retail products is perfect when you are dealing with just about everything else, other than technology. You aren’t selling your digital products, but instead a tangible service (such as clothing, home goods and other products). As long as your software and website is easy to use, it won’t matter to someone looking to buy such a tangible good from you.
